Shodeen offers Best Pricing of the Year at Communities in Illinois and Wisconsin

ILLINOIS/WISCONSIN– September 16, 2020 ––Shodeen Homes, a family-owned and operated business for nearly 60 years, is offering its best pricing of the year on quick move-in and to-be-built homes in Illinois and Wisconsin.

“With inventories low and demand so high, lumber prices have increased nearly 60% over the past six months,” said Craig Shodeen. President of Shodeen Homes.  “PVC Pipe and other materials used in new home construction have also increased significantly as plants and mills stopped production due to COVID.  Framing lumber makes up roughly a fifth of the materials cost of building a home.  Therefore, new home prices will increase in the months ahead making now the best time to invest in a new home.”

In addition, according to Tim Lucas, Editor of The Mortgage Reports, August 2020 held the lowest interest rates of all time with rates expected to increase toward the end of the year and into 2021.

“Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will be imposing a .50% fee on refinances across the country’” Lucas said.  “The fee has been delayed until December 1st but those who don’t lock in their loans in October will likely pay more as lenders pass the new fee onto customers.”
